Fab-ing Up My Pores Feat. Soap & Glory

I love me a good face mask and over the years, i've established the habit of using one at least once a week and I have noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my skin since i've been doing this regularly. The Soap and Glory: The Fab Pore has done wonders for my skin in the past month; especially around my t-zone area. I have THE definition of combination skin and my t-zone is horrendous, not gunna lie. The pores are enlarged like more than the average-joe, I swear and dealing with blackheads is such a pain.  When I saw this when I was at the shop, I immediately had to try it. 

Application is fairly simple, I massage the product onto my skin which initially has exfoliating beads but after a while of working it in it disappears and that's when I know to let the mask do its thing. I leave it on for at least 15 minutes then wash it off with a muslin cloth making sure to splash my face with cold water before drying my face off. The splash of the cold water is something very important i've come to learn, after your pores had a good cleaning and are all opened up, you gotta make sure to close it up with the cold water, it leaves your skin really refreshed too!

The noticeable difference was all in my t-zone area; the appearance and feel of this area was much smoother and was what I ideally wanted my t-zone area to look like. The pores have visibly become smaller (I don't think there's anything out there that makes your pores permanently smaller) and my skin feels baby skin smooth. I have noticed that most times, I end up using this product a second time after a couple days that i've used it as a full face mask. I use it just on my t-zone area to get rid of any other blackheads/whiteheads that have been brought out after initially using it as a mask. After that my skin is even better than before (which is something that I thought was impossible).  I highly recommend this to anyone who has a pesky t-zone and needs a product that can maintain it and keep it looking lovely.

Making My Way Downtown

I had the pleasure to venture around downtown Toronto this weekend so I thought i'd share my experience. First, I attended a show featuring some of my favourite bands, the show was great and everything, unfortunately, I left early due to personal reasons. After, my family decided to grab some food and we found ourselves in Little Italy.

We had some dinner at a little place called John's Little Caffe. I had the Chicken Parmigiano which was decent to be honest, the highlight of my meal was definitely the Tiramisu and a slice of the pizza which my brother ordered called, the Calabrese pizza. A lady who worked there though was extremely lovely, I assume she was one of the owners. She explained how Baldwin Street was one of the gems of the city. She then continued on and said how it was one of the few streets that still had trees all around left and I was stunned because I didn't even realize. The street and the atmosphere of that neighbourhood really was amazing though. Full of little restaurants and fairy lights all around. The picture I took really didn't do it justice.

We stayed until pretty late, ended up at the harbour front. I got this lovely picture of the CN tower in all it's lit-up glory. There's something about being in the city at night and just walking around, when the buzz of all the people has been reduced to a murmur. It's not exactly calming to me but it's more like a deep breath being let out and your mind suddenly being clear. We walked all around the harbour front to some foreign music and it was really needed. I love just being near the water, I feel like there's something different about those areas. Does anyone feel me on this?

There was also this slide/boardwalk thing. It was the craziest concept to me ever but it was really steep, let me tell you; it was like a bunch of little hills made to be a boardwalk with a side of some smooth material that you can slide off. It was actually really fun to play around with it, felt like a kid going down.

My Everyday Lipstick(s)

I don't know about you guys but I get really attached to products, especially like everyday-y type products. I'm talking about neutral eyeshadows, that perfect natural blush shade, a good eyebrow gel (so that you don't have to go through the hassle of filling in), a good "better than your lips" lipstick, and so on and so forth. Well, today I am going to talk about a good lip product. The Tarte LipSurgence™ Lip Tints are the most awesome amazing everyday lipwear you could ever wear on your lips. I love lipsticks as much as the next lipstick addict but these lip tints are what I prefer to wear on an everyday basis. I love the look that these lip tints give, I love how if i'm too lazy to do anything else with my face, I can slap these on my lips and feel that I somewhat look presentable. When you first put it on you get this minty feeling on your lips, no it's not a tingly feeling, it's a minty feeling and it exists and it feels awesome. The wear on these products and i'm referring to the opaqueness of the colour isn't as long lasting, when you've worn it for a long time, it ends up as a tint, like it claims. If you wan't the opaque colour from when you initially put it on, you do have to re-apply. Other than that little detail, this product is wonderful.

These lip tints come in a variety of different shades, as you can see i've accumulated a bit of them. You can see from the packaging that some of the colours I picked look absolutely out-there, like amused (the middle one on the left side in the top picture); but when you actually put it on your lips, it looks more toned-down and wearable which is a plus in my opinion since i'm not that brave to wear  a neon-magenta lip colour in my everyday life. I picked really pinky-red shades when I bought them but I really want the orange shade because i've been obsessed with corals lately. But these shades have been what I enjoyed wearing everyday for the past few years actually. I rotate them out but my most used one is enchanted.

I know that there are a lot of lip crayon type products now, I feel like I see them everywhere from different brands across the nation but no matter what, I can't seem to shake these lip tints off, I am obsessed. Anyhow, I just wanted to share the love and let you know about my thoughts on these lippys'. Let me know what your everyday lipstick/lip product is down below! High-llo Monday, Low-bye Last Week | #1

I'm not sure about this name.. you guy's should've seen the ones I came up with when this post was on it's drafting stages. Basically, I wanted to have a weekly post that was annual or maybe every-other week that was more about reflecting. Reflecting on events/thoughts that occurred during the week. I'm not sure how interesting this will be to everyone but it's something that I definitely would love to look back on. Basically, the idea is I want to have some of my highs and some of my lows that happened during the week listed down in a blog post. When I first thought of this idea, I thought I should lean more toward the positive side and just write about my highs, but that's not the type of person I am, I know that in order to have some good times in life, you'll most likely have some bad ones too. (you'll come to know my extreme distaste for this fact) But anyways, let's get on with it...

Lows:

The low thoughts in my mind goes off along the same theme this week "the world/life is terrifying". I don't like to think of myself a scaredy-cat (sometimes I really am though) but I really aim to not be one because I like the idea of being fearless. But sometimes when I really think, I get absolutely freaked out. As amazing as this world is, it shouldn't be news to you that there is some not-so-nice things going on outside are little safe bubble. There are some terrible things going on and some terrible people out there. It completely saddens me how there are terrible people in the world that probably don't even understand that they're horrible. They don't know any better, at least I don't like the thought of someone being level-headed to just choose to be hurtful towards someone else. Basically this all got me thinking since I've been experiencing more and more in seeing/hearing things that is almost like the "promotion" of being a bully basically. Like when it comes to things that people can't help like their race/sexuality/their interests/etc. Whenever this type of "promotion" happens, I'm always just dumfounded by the amount of responses that goes along the line of "yeah, I totally think that too & also, (insert something else about putting someone down)". It's like encouragement from both parties that it's okay to put others down and then I feel like it's almost like their praised because "someone finally said it". I'm not even kidding you when I say I just have a lot of trouble having the space in my brain to judge someone to an extreme extent, like I'm human, if you have a spot on your face, I'll probably see and notice it, but it's not something I would comment on, let alone talk about like it'll get me gossip points or something. These experiences in hearing/seeing this type of promotions has led me to be more of a self-conscious person, that's also another reason why I find it hard to judge someone else, I'm too busy judging myself and wondering what the other person is jotting down of the things that are wrong with me. Whenever someone has those thoughts, of being put down by yourself, it's horrible, it becomes this cycle. Basically, I just wanted to talk about this topic so that I can promote being the person who says "why does it matter?" When you find yourself just even around a conversation that's all about putting someone down for whatever it is, be the one that says "why does it matter?", "why is that important to be noted on?", "does that one fact sum up the entire person?". Maybe your not as outspoken and won't actually say those things, but make sure you ask yourself those things, those questions will give you a reality check and I think those type of questions will keep you from being someone who misses out on a great person simply because of judgement or something shallow.

Give me your thoughts on this type of post, It's something that I really enjoyed writing. But if it's only my future-self reading this post, then this is me reminding myself to put my own thoughts down there about my thoughts back then. 

Outfit of The (two)Day(s) - Niagara Strollin'

Over this past weekend I went on a trip to Niagara Falls and had an absolute blast (upcoming post on the trip itself). I thought I'd show you the outfits I wore over the two-day trip. They're very casual outfits and they're perfect  to wear when your just hanging out and walking around, which is mostly what the trip consisted of. Due to my horrible habit of procrastination, you can see that this outfit has repeated items in it, but I think that just showcases how versatile those items are. (maybe? no? just my laziness? whoops..)

Hello.

Alright, so writing is something thats not new to me, I mean from the thousand of writing essays they make us do in school, but blogging seems like it's a whole other thing. I'm new to being a blogger myself but a big fan of the blogger world. Am I talking too proper? What do I sound like in your head.. Ok, so back to the point, which was: this blog. Emicphany. (Who can guess the attempted wordplay I did there?) I'm really interested in making this a fashion/beauty blog since those blogs are the one I enjoy most reading. I am one of those who reads as much reviews as possible before I make the commitment and if I can be a trusted reviewer for someone else, that would be pretty sweet to me. I also just want to find a community who's as obsessed with this stuff as much as me. This blog won't be all beauty though, I guess you could add some lifestyle in there because I just LOVE getting my thoughts out there and my opinion on things and seeing how my view differs from others, so having a space to get those things out of my head would be what I want this blog to be. Whether that thought would be about life or which mascara is better ;) 

Now, this is quite lengthy.. I think, if anyone has gotten this far, wow.
